Elementary School Principal

Heba Taja is the Elementary School Principal at Al Maaref American School, where she leads with a strong belief that every child can succeed when they feel safe, valued, and challenged.

With over 20 years of experience in education, Heba has served as a teacher, instructional leader, and senior leader, bringing a wealth of expertise in curriculum alignment, teacher development, and student-centred leadership. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and has completed advanced Leadership training with Harvard University. Heba is also a certified UAE school inspector and serves as a visiting team member for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), supporting schools worldwide in achieving high standards of excellence.

At Al Maaref American School, Heba focuses on creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment, strengthening instructional quality, and fostering programs that prepare students for success both in school and in life. She has led initiatives such as co-teaching programs, literacy pathways, and targeted training, ensuring that every learning experience is both rigorous and meaningful.

Known for her approachable leadership and active engagement in daily school life, Heba builds strong connections with students, parents, and staff alike. She sees every interaction as an opportunity to inspire learning and nurture growth. In her free time, she enjoys reading, adventures, and exploring new cultures.
